Snowboard Tuning Vice Review – Toko Snowboard Board Grip Vise 2.0

If you’re waxing your own snowboard at home, I’m guessing you are like me and you want to use sturdy, great products that help you tune your board quickly and efficiently.

You can go other routes (and I’ve heard many stories of others that tried waxing their board on the floor or on a bench without tuning vices), but if you want to make your tuning life easier, I would recommend getting a tuning vice. But which one to get?

Great question. In this snowboard tuning vice review, I am going to be taking you through the TOKO Snowboard Grip Vice 2.0! I want to arm you with information on this product so that you hopefully learn something new, and feel confident in any purchasing decision no matter where you get it from!

Review it up!

The things I personally look for in a vice are:

  1. Durability, stability, and strength for a long life span.
  2. Great performance whether waxing or sharpening
  3. Ease of setup and use

And this one has all those important items! Let’s break it down how this vice fits what I (and maybe you) are looking for in a vice.

There are plenty of cheaper plastic vices that can work for you. However, the durability and strength of the metal TOKO snowboard grip vice 2.0 will not disappoint.

Because of the rubber grips and locking mechanisms, it works very well for both waxing and tuning your edges.

For waxing, you want your board to stick to the vice supports and with the TOKO snowboard grip vice 2.0, the grip supports keep your board flat and prevents slipping while applying pressure scraping off the wax.

Then you can turn your board on its side and lock it in to place to sharpen your edges. This will allow you to really apply some good pressure while sharpening, making it easier and a more efficient tune up!

The built in adjustable clamps make it super simple to attached to any workbench or table. Just tighten em up, and get to work!

The only Con…

This is a stretch, because this vice really doesn’t have many weaknesses. The only one I could come up with is that it is more expensive than other snowboard tuning vices out there.

That’s what you get for metal instead of plastic! So I’d say the extra cost is TOTALLY WORTH IT!

These things are flying off the shelf.

I checked around a bit online and these things are so popular that they are flying off the online shelves:) Amazon only has 4 left and EBay is sold out… So get ’em quick or be forced to wait until after the holidays.

This vice would make a great gift idea for that special snowboarding loved one for the holidays. And you still have time to order and get them before Christmas!
